Viste con Arte
“Viste con Arte” is a project led by the Mexican fashion designer Erica Flores, with its main headquarters in Cancún, Quintana Roo, México. The objective of Viste con Arte is to support the development of indigenous communities with strong cultural roots, adapting and transforming the know-how of artisans to fashion’s modern and avant-garde derivatives.
¿How was “Viste con Arte” born?
Mexico is one of the countries with the most natural beauty in the world making it a strong source of inspiration for the designer, Erica Flores, because of its colors, tints, tissues, fabrics, materials, shapes and techniques which has allowed her to be an authentic and unique designer in her creations. In an eagerness to include economic and socially undeveloped areas of the country in today's globalized world, this project was created so that the communities involved in the project are able to work from their birthplace and avoid migration which could lead to abandonment of their roots and traditions.
Thus, the main objective of Viste con Arte is to develop and integrate production workshops in underdeveloped communities in order to facilitate short and long term professional and economic growth and to improve on work surroundings and sustainable social development. “Viste con Arte” displays a hard working and creative Mexico and exalts the culture of this wonderful country.
